Our Impact Report from FY 21-22

FROM THE FRIENDS | We are pleased to share our Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Impact Report!

OUR MISSION

The Friends of the Amesbury Public Library are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that formed back in 1991. Our sole mission and goal is to support the Library, its staff, and its programming, and we’ve been going strong ever since. We help to promote the Library as a vital and thriving resource in our community, help fund some of the programming including genealogy programs, museum passes, speaker events, summer reading programs, technology and more!

OUR IMPACT

The Friends of the Amesbury Public Library had a busy year! In September 2021 we launched our e-commerce bookstore, www.TheStacksAmesbury.com. We also held more than a half dozen pop-up book sales and donation events to keep The Stacks active in the community. We held our 30th Anniversary event in October at Brewery Silvaticus and welcomed Mayor Gove who brought a proclamation to celebrate the occasion. Thank you all for 30 years for support, we're looking forward to the next 30!

In the fiscal year ending June 30, 2022, the Friends of the Amesbury Public Library funded programs and resources that kept our community engaged in the life of the Library, including:

  • $19,850.75 donated in Fiscal Year 2022 to support Library programming, events and materials

  • Materials for the 2022 Summer Reading program, where 260,799 minutes were read!

  • 403 people attended 11 "Talk Art-y To Me" adult art history programs

  • Supported 20 Storytime Take Outs and Make & Takes

  • 574 Museum Passes checked out

  • 3 hotspots

Many thanks to our members, business supporters and community advocates who helped us make it possible!
